I defended my doctoral thesis, “The Impact of Computing Environment on Test Flakiness”, at CIn-UFPE.

The thesis argues that flakiness is not only a property of the test code. The machine matters: CPU contention, available memory, the number of cores, and the operating system all change which tests fail and how often. Ignoring the environment means both missing flaky tests and misjudging the ones we already know about.
